Russia was the main exporting country with an export of around X units, which recorded 62% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X units), constituting a 37% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of +7.8%).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest electrical signalling apparatus supplier in the CIS, comprising 73% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 26% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled +1.4%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 65% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 95% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Belarus stood at $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+9.9%).

Imports in CIS
In 2022, supplies from abroad of electrical apparatus for sound or visual signalling decreased by -6.4% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 96%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, electrical signalling apparatus imports declined to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Russia prevails in imports structure, reaching X units, which was near 81% of total imports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X units) took an 8.2% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Belarus (4.9%). Azerbaijan (X units) and Moldova (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Moldova (+12.2%), Azerbaijan (+7.0%) and Belarus (+6.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +12.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-3.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Belarus increased by +2 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electrical apparatus for sound or visual signalling in the CIS, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 4.4% share.
In Russia, electrical signalling apparatus imports declined by an average annual rate of -1.9% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (-1.3% per year) and Belarus (+0.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -8.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 31% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Azerbaijan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+1.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
