Cyclic Hydrocarbons Exports

Exports in CIS

In 2022, shipments abroad of cyclic hydrocarbons decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after five years of growth. In general, exports, however, saw perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons exports shrank sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Russia was the largest exporter of cyclic hydrocarbons in the CIS, with the volume of exports resulting at X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons) and Belarus (X tons), together constituting a X% share of total exports.

Exports from Russia decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (X%) and Belarus (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. While the share of Kazakhstan (X p.p.) and Belarus (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Russia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest cyclic hydrocarbons supplier in the CIS, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia amounted to X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (X% per year) and Belarus (X% per year).

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, picking up by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a perceptible descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, the amount of cyclic hydrocarbons imported in the CIS reduced remarkably to X tons, waning by X% compared with 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons imports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Belarus (X tons) represented the main importer of cyclic hydrocarbons, generating X% of total imports. Russia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Uzbekistan (X%). Azerbaijan (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cyclic hydrocarbons imports into Belarus stood at X%.
