Condom Exports

Exports in CIS

After two years of growth, shipments abroad of condoms (sheath contraceptives) decreased by X% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed temperate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, condom exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined significantly in the following year.

Russia (X units), Belarus (X units) and Armenia (X units) represented roughly X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X units), mixing up a X% share of total exports. Moldova (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Kyrgyzstan (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Belarus ($X), Russia ($X) and Armenia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined X% share of total exports. Kyrgyzstan and Moldova lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per thousand units, reducing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of X% against the previous year. At the same time, Armenia (X%), Uzbekistan (X%) and Belarus (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (X%) and Kyrgyzstan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
