For the fourth consecutive year, the CIS cocoa bean market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by X% to $X in 2022. In general, consumption, however, showed a noticeable reduction. Cocoa Bean Exports

Exports in CIS

In 2022, the amount of cocoa beans exported in the CIS reduced rapidly to X tons, shrinking by X% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports showed a precipitous decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cocoa bean exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) represented the key exporter of cocoa beans in the CIS, creating X% of total export.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the cocoa beans exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) also remains the largest cocoa bean supplier in the CIS.

Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cocoa bean imports dropped slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. Russia represented the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons) and Belarus (X tons), together comprising a X% share of total imports. Armenia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.

Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Belarus (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Armenia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Belarus and Kazakhstan increased by X and X percentage points, respectively.
