Chocolate And Confectionery Exports

Exports in CIS

In 2022, overseas shipments of chocolate and confectionery decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2015, thus ending a six-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.

In value terms, chocolate and confectionery exports dropped sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

Russia dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the chocolate and confectionery exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of Russia (X p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
