Cherry Exports

Exports in CIS

In 2022, the amount of cherries exported in the CIS shrank to X tons, declining by X% on 2021 figures. Overall, exports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cherry exports fell notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Azerbaijan was the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached X% of total exports. Uzbekistan (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Moldova (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Moldova (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (X%), Kazakhstan (X%) and Belarus (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022.
