Exports in CIS

In 2022, shipments abroad of ceramic household articles and toilet articles decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, ceramic household article exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a measured expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Uzbekistan (X tons) represented the largest exporter of ceramic household articles and toilet articles, generating X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons) and Belarus (X tons), together comprising an X% share of total exports. Armenia (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

Exports from Uzbekistan increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Armenia (X%) and Russia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Ceramic household article imports shrank sharply to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of X% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded slight growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, ceramic household article imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
