Bridge Exports

Exports in CIS

After three years of decline, overseas shipments of bridges, bridge sections, towers and lattice masts (of iron or steel) increased by X% to X tons in 2023. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a temperate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2023, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, bridge exports amounted to $X in 2023. In general, exports, however, showed a mild downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), achieving a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to bridge exports from Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Kazakhstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Kazakhstan (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Russia saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest bridge supplier in the CIS, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Russia stood at $X per ton.

Imports in CIS

In 2023, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of bridges, bridge sections, towers and lattice masts (of iron or steel), when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, bridge imports contracted to $X in 2023. Overall, imports recorded a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2023, Azerbaijan (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) represented the major importer of bridges, bridge sections, towers and lattice masts (of iron or steel) in the CIS, constituting X% of total import. Kazakhstan (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), Moldova (X tons), Tajikistan (X tons) and Belarus (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2023, remaining constant against the previous year. Import price indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, bridge import price increased by X% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
