In value terms, aluminium tube exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep downturn. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Russia represented the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which amounted to 73% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Moldova (X tons), committing a 24% share of total exports. Belarus (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to aluminium tube exports from Russia stood at -13.3%. At the same time, Moldova (+10.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Moldova emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +10.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Belarus (-3.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Moldova (+21 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-22.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest aluminium tube supplier in the CIS, comprising 67% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Moldova ($X), with a 30% share of total exports.
In Russia, aluminium tube exports shrank by an average annual rate of -10.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Moldova (+11.0% per year) and Belarus (-11.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 25% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.1%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+3.6%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Aluminium tube imports was estimated at X tons in 2021, growing by 11% compared with 2020 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 29%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X tons) represented the main importer of aluminium tubes and pipes, committing 67% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), constituting a 26% share of total imports. The following importers - Uzbekistan (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) - together made up 5.4% of total imports.
Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+24.3%) and Moldova (+5.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +24.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Belarus (-2.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (+9.3 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+3.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Belarus (-11.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In Russia, aluminium tube imports plunged by an average annual rate of -6.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-5.1% per year) and Moldova (+7.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 35% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt descent. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+6.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
