Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 36%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium hydroxide imports totaled $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Russia (X tons) was the largest importer of aluminium hydroxide, creating 66% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), constituting a 30% share of total imports. Tajikistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to aluminium hydroxide imports into Russia stood at -13.1%. At the same time, Tajikistan (+14.8%) displayed positive paces of growth.
