Exports from China
In 2022, approx. X tons of yarn of wool were exported from China; waning by X% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports recorded a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, woolen yarn exports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Vietnam (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of woolen yarn exports from China, with a combined X% share of total exports. Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Hong Kong SAR, Pakistan, the United States, South Korea, Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Madagascar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In 2022, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest woolen yarn supplier to China, with a X% share of total imports.
