Pepper Market Size in China

The U.S. (X tonnes), Senegal (X tonnes) and Germany (X tonnes) were the main destinations of pepper exports from China, together comprising X% of total exports. The UK, China, Hong Kong SAR, South Africa, Australia, the Netherlands, France, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Yemen lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Australia, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($X) remains the key foreign market for pepper exports from China, comprising X% of total pepper exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Germany ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the U.S. totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+X% per year) and the Netherlands (-X% per year).

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, pepper imports decreased by -X% against 2014 indices. Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was India ($X per tonne), while the price for Italy ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
