Exports of Jams, Jellies, Puree and Pastes
Exports from China
In 2022, approx. X tons of jams, jellies, puree and pastes were exported from China; rising by X% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, exports, however, showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, jam, jelly, puree and paste exports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Exports by Country
The United States (X tons) was the main destination for jam, jelly, puree and paste exports from China, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, jam, jelly, puree and paste exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Australia (X tons), twofold. South Korea (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Australia (X% per year) and South Korea (X% per year).
In value terms, Vietnam ($X), South Korea ($X) and the United States ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for jam, jelly, puree and paste exported from China worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports.
Vietnam, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average export price for jams, jellies, puree and pastes stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of X%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Jams, Jellies, Puree and Pastes
Imports into China
In 2022, approx. X tons of jams, jellies, puree and pastes were imported into China; reducing by X% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, jam, jelly, puree and paste imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of jam, jelly, puree and paste to China, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, jam, jelly, puree and paste imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), threefold. Spain (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from India stood at X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (X% per year) and Spain (X% per year).
In value terms, France ($X), India ($X) and Indonesia ($X) were the largest jam, jelly, puree and paste suppliers to China, with a combined X% share of total imports.
Among the main suppliers, Indonesia, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for jams, jellies, puree and pastes amounted to $X per ton, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of X%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year.
