Truck Crane Market Size in China

In 2021, the Chinese truck crane market decreased by -15.5% to $X for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year rising trend. In general, consumption, however, saw tangible growth. Truck crane consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, truck crane production shrank slightly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the production volume increased by 30%. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2020, and then fell slightly in the following year.

In value terms, truck crane exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible downturn. Oman (X units), Russia (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) were the main destinations of truck crane exports from China, together accounting for 44% of total exports. These countries were followed by Brazil, Vietnam, Thailand, India, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further 37%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Ukraine (with a CAGR of +45.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for truck crane exported from China were Russia ($X), Brazil ($X) and India ($X), together comprising 36% of total exports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further 43%.

Among the main countries of destination, Ukraine, with a CAGR of +43.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average truck crane export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, declining by -19.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 36%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then fell markedly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Oman ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+25.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of truck cranes decreased by -97.7% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a sharp descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 76%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, truck crane imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a precipitous decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 73%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X units) was the main supplier of truck crane to China, accounting for a approx. 100% share of total imports.
