For the tenth year in a row, the Chinese coconut market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by X% to $X in 2021. In general, consumption saw resilient growth. Macao SAR (X tons) was the main destination for coconut exports from China, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, coconut exports to Macao SAR exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Russia (X tons), twofold.

Imports into China

Coconut imports into China soared to X tons in 2021, rising by X% on the year before. Overall, imports posted resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, coconut imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

Indonesia (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main suppliers of coconut imports to China, together accounting for X% of total imports.
