In 2018, the imports of sheep and goat meat into Chile amounted to X tonnes, dropping by -X% against the previous year. Overall, sheep and goat meat imports continue to indicate an abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sheep and goat meat imports stood at $X in 2018. Overall, sheep and goat meat imports continue to indicate a deep drop. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, sheep and goat meat imports reached their maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2018, New Zealand (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of sheep and goat meat to Chile, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, sheep and goat meat imports from New Zealand exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Argentina (X tonnes), twofold.
