Exports in Central Asia

In 2022, shipments abroad of steam turbines and other vapor turbines decreased by X% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, steam turbine exports declined rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate temperate growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

The biggest shipments were from Kazakhstan (X units), together reaching X% of total export.

Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of steam turbines and other vapor turbines. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) also remains the largest steam turbine supplier in Central Asia.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan stood at X%.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, falling by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed temperate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by X%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Kazakhstan.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Kazakhstan amounted to X% per year.

Imports in Central Asia

In 2022, the amount of steam turbines and other vapor turbines imported in Central Asia surged to X units, growing by X% on the year before. In general, imports saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, steam turbine imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Uzbekistan was the major importing country with an import of about X units, which recorded X% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Mongolia (X%).

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the steam turbines and other vapor turbines imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Mongolia (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan and Mongolia increased by X and X percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, the largest steam turbine importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Mongolia ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X), together comprising X% of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Mongolia, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, waning by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price faced a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mongolia (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
