Over the period under review, milled rice imports, however, continue to indicate a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. In that year, milled rice imports attained their peak of X tons. From 2013 to 2018, the growth of milled rice imports failed to regain its momentum.

In value terms, milled rice imports amounted to $X in 2018. Overall, milled rice imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, milled rice imports reached their peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2018, Mongolia (X tons), distantly followed by Tajikistan (X tons), Uzbekistan (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) were the major importers of semi-milled or wholly milled (bleached) rice, together mixing up X% of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) took a little share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
