Over the period under review, the export prices for semi-milled or wholly milled (bleached) rice attained their maximum at $X per tonne in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($X per tonne), while Kazakhstan totaled $X per tonne.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tajikistan.

In 2018, the imports of semi-milled or wholly milled (bleached) rice in Central Asia amounted to X tonnes, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, milled rice imports, however, continue to indicate a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. In that year, milled rice imports attained their peak of X tonnes. From 2013 to 2018, the growth of milled rice imports failed to regain its momentum.

In value terms, milled rice imports amounted to $X in 2018. Overall, milled rice imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, milled rice imports reached their peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2018, Mongolia (X tonnes), distantly followed by Tajikistan (X tonnes), Uzbekistan (X tonnes) and Kazakhstan (X tonnes) were the major importers of semi-milled or wholly milled (bleached) rice, together mixing up X% of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X tonnes) took a little share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
