In 2023, the amount of refractory bricks, blocks and tiles exported in Central Asia surged to X tons, rising by X% against 2022. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed resilient growth. Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2023, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, waning by X% against the previous year. Export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, refractory bricks, blocks and tiles export price increased by X% against 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The following importers - Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Tajikistan (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.

Imports into Kazakhstan decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%) and Mongolia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Kyrgyzstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Tajikistan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (X p.p.) and Mongolia (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2023, the share of Tajikistan (X p.p.) and Kazakhstan (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported refractory bricks, blocks and tiles in Central Asia, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a X% share.
