Exports in Central Asia

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of ploughs for agricultural purposes, when their volume increased by X% to X units. In general, exports showed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plough exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the three major exporters of ploughs for agricultural purposes, namely Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, represented more than two-thirds of total export. It was distantly followed by Tajikistan (X units), creating a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Tajikistan (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest plough supplying countries in Central Asia were Uzbekistan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Tajikistan lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further X%.

Tajikistan, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, growing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tajikistan (X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia

In 2022, imports of ploughs for agricultural purposes in Central Asia contracted sharply to X units, falling by X% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plough imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Kazakhstan was the main importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to X% of total imports. Turkmenistan (X units) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (X%) and Kyrgyzstan (X%). The following importers - Tajikistan (X units) and Mongolia (X units) - together made up X% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to plough imports into Kazakhstan stood at X%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%) and Mongolia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Tajikistan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (X%) and Turkmenistan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan increased by X, X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
