In 2021, the Central Asian manostat market decreased by -8.5% to $X for the first time since 2011, thus ending a nine-year rising trend. Exports in Central Asia
In 2021, overseas shipments of manostats decreased by -10.3% to X units, falling for the third consecutive year after three years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 246%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, manostat exports expanded notably to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 139%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Mongolia (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) dominates exports structure, together committing 94% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X units), making up a 5.3% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Mongolia (with a CAGR of +33.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) remains the largest manostat supplier in Central Asia, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 4.9% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Uzbekistan amounted to +20.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (-1.8% per year) and Mongolia (-25.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 27% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 161% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Mongolia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+18.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Manostat Imports
Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, supplies from abroad of manostats increased by 56% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, manostat imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan dominates imports structure, recording X units, which was near 86% of total imports in 2021. Turkmenistan (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Uzbekistan (X units). All these countries together held near 13% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to manostat imports into Kazakhstan stood at +3.8%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+84.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +84.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Turkmenistan (-31.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan increased by +64 and +5.8 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported manostats in Central Asia, comprising 82% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports.
In Kazakhstan, manostat imports decreased by an average annual rate of -5.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+55.6% per year) and Turkmenistan (-30.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -18% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the import price increased by 78%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Turkmenistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
