Industrial Roundwood Exports

Exports in Central Asia

In 2022, overseas shipments of industrial roundwood decreased by X% to X cubic meters, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports recorded a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X%. The volume of export peaked at X cubic meters in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, industrial roundwood exports shrank sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Uzbekistan represented the major exporting country with an export of about X cubic meters, which amounted to X% of total exports. Tajikistan (X cubic meters) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X%). Kazakhstan (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Tajikistan (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

In value terms, the largest industrial roundwood supplying countries in Central Asia were Uzbekistan ($X), Tajikistan ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports.

Kazakhstan was the main importer of industrial roundwood in Central Asia, with the volume of imports resulting at X cubic meters, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X cubic meters), achieving a X% share of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X cubic meters) took a little share of total imports.

Imports into Kazakhstan increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
