Exports by Country
In 2021, Uzbekistan (X tons) was the largest exporter of granules, chippings and powder of marble, mixing up 59% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), comprising a 38% share of total exports. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +31.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, purchases abroad of granules, chippings and powder of marble decreased by -0.3% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after eight years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 63%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, marble granules and powder imports totaled $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -8.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Kazakhstan was the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 87% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), creating a 10% share of total imports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the granules, chippings and powder of marble imports, with a CAGR of +18.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+15.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Kazakhstan (+11 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
