Frozen Crustaceans Exports

Exports in Central Asia

In 2023, shipments abroad of frozen crustaceans decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, frozen crustaceans exports reduced modestly to $X in 2023. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan (X tons) represented roughly X% of total exports in 2023.

Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the frozen crustaceans exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. Kazakhstan (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2022, and then dropped modestly in the following year.

In value terms, frozen crustaceans imports dropped to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2022, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2023, Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main importer of frozen crustaceans, generating X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), constituting a X% share of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
