In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of truck cranes, when their volume increased by 340% to X units. Over the period under review, exports saw a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 360% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, truck crane exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports posted a pronounced expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 383%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Uzbekistan represented the largest exporter of truck cranes in Central Asia, with the volume of exports reaching X units, which was approx. 72% of total exports in 2021. Kazakhstan (X units) held a 10% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkmenistan (8.5%) and Tajikistan (5.8%). Kyrgyzstan (X units) took a little share of total exports.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the truck cranes exports, with a CAGR of +48.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Turkmenistan (+8.0%) and Kyrgyzstan (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-3.8%) and Tajikistan (-5.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Uzbekistan increased by +66 percentage points.

In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X), Turkmenistan ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 80% share of total exports.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +37.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -52.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 55% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tajikistan (+24.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia

In 2021, truck crane imports in Central Asia skyrocketed to X units, rising by 84% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, recorded a slight curtailment. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, truck crane imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 57%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Uzbekistan (X units) was the main importer of truck cranes, mixing up 55% of total imports. Kazakhstan (X units) took a 21% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Mongolia (13%). The following importers - Tajikistan (X units), Turkmenistan (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) - together made up 12% of total imports.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the truck cranes imports, with a CAGR of +28.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Tajikistan (+9.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Mongolia (-4.4%), Kyrgyzstan (-9.6%), Kazakhstan (-10.9%) and Turkmenistan (-15.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Uzbekistan (+49 p.p.) and Tajikistan (+2.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Kyrgyzstan (-3.7 p.p.), Mongolia (-4.2 p.p.), Turkmenistan (-12.7 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (-31.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, the largest truck crane importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Mongolia ($X), together comprising 87% of total imports.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +14.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Mongolia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+1.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
