Exports in Central Asia

In 2022, shipments abroad of angles, shapes and sections of stainless steel or other alloy steel increased by X% to X tons, rising for the third year in a row after three years of decline. Overall, exports, however, faced a abrupt contraction. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, stainless steel angle exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Kazakhstan represented the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which accounted for X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), making up a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to stainless steel angle exports from Kazakhstan stood at X%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of X.3% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan dominates imports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), creating a X% share of total imports.
