Truck Market Size in Bulgaria

The revenue of the truck market in Bulgaria amounted to $X in 2018, surging by X% against the previous year. Macedonia (X units) was the main destination for truck exports from Bulgaria, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, truck exports to Macedonia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovakia (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Germany (X units), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume to Macedonia totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovakia (+X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).

In value terms, Austria ($X), Romania ($X) and Spain ($X) constituted the largest markets for truck exported from Bulgaria worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. Germany, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Greece, Georgia, Serbia, Armenia and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X recorded the highest growth rate of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the last eleven-year period, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average truck export price stood at $X per unit in 2018, picking up by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the truck export price, however, continues to indicate a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the average export prices for trucks attained their maximum at $X per unit in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, export prices failed to regain their momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Bulgaria

Truck imports into Bulgaria totaled X units in 2018, jumping by X% against the previous year. In general, truck imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% y-o-y. In that year, truck imports attained their peak of X units. From 2009 to 2018, the growth of truck imports failed to regain its momentum.

In value terms, truck imports amounted to $X in 2018. In general, truck imports, however, continue to indicate a measured shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 with an increase of X% year-to-year. In that year, truck imports reached their peak of $X. From 2009 to 2018, the growth of truck imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Italy (X units), Morocco (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of truck imports to Bulgaria, with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by France, Turkey, Ireland, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, South Africa and Sweden, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Ireland, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest truck suppliers to Bulgaria were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and France ($X), together comprising X% of total imports. Morocco, Turkey, Sweden, the Netherlands, Austria, South Africa, Hungary, Switzerland and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X terms of the main suppliers, Turkey experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to imports, over the last eleven years, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 an increase of X% year-to-year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, import prices failed to regain their momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the price for Ireland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
