Over the period under review, exports recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, exports attained the peak of X tonnes. From 2010 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wrapping papers exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2020. Overall, exports continue to indicate a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Exports peaked at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Argentina (X tonnes) was the main destination for wrapping papers exports from Brazil, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, wrapping papers exports to Argentina exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Peru (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Argentina totaled -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+X% per year) and Peru (+X% per year).

Overall, total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2020 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
