Exports from Brazil

In 2021, the amount of quilted textile products in the piece (excluding embroidery) exported from Brazil skyrocketed to X tons, with an increase of 39% compared with the previous year. In general, exports, however, saw a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 169% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, quilted textile products exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 56% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Ecuador (X tons), Argentina (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) were the main destinations of quilted textile products exports from Brazil, with a combined 78% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ecuador (with a CAGR of +110.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Colombia ($X), Ecuador ($X) and Paraguay ($X) constituted the largest markets for quilted textile products exported from Brazil worldwide, together accounting for 85% of total exports.

Ecuador, with a CAGR of +123.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average quilted textile products export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 3.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 51% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
