Exports from Brazil

In 2022, shipments abroad of canned food increased by X% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, canned food exports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The UK (X tons), the United States (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of canned food exports from Brazil, with a combined X% share of total exports. Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Japan, Chile, Canada, Germany, Ireland and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, canned food imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a slight slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X.
