In value terms, sawnwood exports totaled $X in 2017. In general, sawnwood exports continue to indicate a slight deduction. Over the period under review, the sawnwood exports reached its peak figure level of $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Sawnwood Exports by Country from Belgium

France (X cubic meters), the Netherlands (X cubic meters) and Germany (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of sawnwood exports from Belgium, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Morocco, the UK, Algeria and China, which together accounted for a further X%.

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Morocco (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, largest markets for sawnwood exported from Belgium were France ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. The UK, China, Morocco and Algeria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Morocco (+X% per year) experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the last decade, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sawnwood Export Prices by Country in Belgium

The average sawnwood export price stood at $X per cubic meter in 2017, declining by -X% against the previous year. Overall, sawnwood export price continues to indicate a temperate decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011, when it surged by X% year-to-year. In that year, the average export prices for sawnwood attained their peak level of $X per cubic meter. From 2012 to 2017, growth of the average export prices for sawnwood failed to regain its momentum.

There were significant differences in the average export prices for the major foreign markets. In 2017, the country with the highest export price was the UK ($X per cubic meter), while average price for exports to Morocco ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export prices was recorded for supplies to Algeria (+X% per year), the export prices for other major destinations experienced a decline.

Sawnwood Imports into Belgium

In 2017, approx. X cubic meters of sawnwood were imported into Belgium; rising by X% against the previous year. Overall, sawnwood imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, when it surged by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the sawnwood imports attained its maximum volume of X cubic meters in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, sawnwood imports amounted to $X in 2017. In general, sawnwood imports continue to indicate a measured downturn. The imports peaked of $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.
