In value terms, the largest markets for milled rice exported from Belgium were France ($X), Germany ($X) and the UK ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. From 2009 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average export prices for semi-milled or wholly milled (bleached) rice remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the highest prices were recorded for prices to Sweden ($X per ton) and the UK ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) and Switzerland ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, milled rice imports attained their peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

India (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of milled rice imports to Belgium, with a combined X% share of total imports. The Netherlands, Egypt, Cambodia, France, Myanmar, the UK, Germany, Pakistan and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Cambodia, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
