In value terms, denatured ethyl alcohol exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 608% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Turkey (X tons) was the main destination for denatured ethyl alcohol exports from Belgium, with a 40% share of total exports. Moreover, denatured ethyl alcohol exports to Turkey exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Ireland (X tons), with an 11% share.
