Concrete Mixer Exports

Exports from Belgium

In 2021, the amount of concrete or mortar mixers exported from Belgium soared to X units, growing by 40% against 2020. Overall, exports, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 90%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, concrete mixer exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a tangible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 140% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Mali (X units), France (X units) and Nigeria (X units) were the main destinations of concrete mixer exports from Belgium, with a combined 55% share of total exports.

For the third year in a row, Belgium recorded growth in supplies from abroad of concrete or mortar mixers, which increased by 54% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +97.6% against 2018 indices. Imports peaked at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concrete mixer imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed prominent growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Germany (X units), China (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of concrete mixer imports to Belgium, together accounting for 77% of total imports. These countries were followed by Italy, Ireland, France, Turkey and Portugal, which together accounted for a further 20%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of +1,136.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
