Exports from Belarus

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of silicates, commercial alkali metal silicates, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, silicates exports shrank to $X in 2021. In general, total exports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by X% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, purchases abroad of silicates, commercial alkali metal silicates decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, imports saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, silicates imports dropped sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year.
