Exports from Belarus

In 2021, shipments abroad of glass fibre filaments was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Overall, exports saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 219%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, glass fibre filament exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 165%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of glass fibre filaments decreased by -61.3% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a tangible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 251%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

In value terms, glass fibre filament imports fell notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 228% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
