Flax Fiber Exports

Exports from Belarus

After two years of growth, overseas shipments of flax fiber decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons, and then contracted notably in the following year.

In value terms, flax fiber exports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

China (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) were the main destinations of flax fiber exports from Belarus, with a combined X% share of total exports. Belgium, Vietnam, Latvia and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, flax fiber imports expanded significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a mild increase.
