Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, rolled bitumen articles exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 57%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Ukraine (X square meters), Poland (X square meters) and Germany (X square meters) were the main destinations of rolled bitumen articles exports from Belarus, together accounting for 66% of total exports. The Czech Republic, Lithuania and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Hungary (with a CAGR of +80.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Ukraine ($X) remains the key foreign market for rolled bitumen articles exports from Belarus, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Poland ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Ukraine amounted to +19.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (+21.1% per year) and Germany (+59.6% per year).

In 2021, the average rolled bitumen articles export price amounted to $X per square meter, surging by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a mild decline. The export price peaked at $X per square meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2021, the countries with the highest prices were Lithuania ($X per square meter) and Ukraine ($X per square meter), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($X per square meter) and the Czech Republic ($X per square meter) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Belarus
In 2021, approx. X square meters of articles of bitumen in rolls were imported into Belarus; waning by -9.6% on 2020 figures. In general, imports showed a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 43%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X square meters in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, rolled bitumen articles imports rose notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X square meters) was the main rolled bitumen articles supplier to Belarus, accounting for a 94% share of total imports. Moreover, rolled bitumen articles imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X square meters), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia totaled -9.5%.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of rolled bitumen articles to Belarus, comprising 90% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 7.8% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia amounted to -8.7%.
Import Prices by Country
The average rolled bitumen articles import price stood at $X per square meter in 2021, rising by 25% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, rolled bitumen articles import price increased by +98.1% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 33%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per square meter), while the price for Russia amounted to $X per square meter.
