Imports into Bangladesh

In 2022, after five years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. In general, imports, however, posted a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes to Bangladesh, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, hormones, prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Denmark (X tons), threefold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
