Exports from Azerbaijan
Jam, jelly, puree and paste exports from Azerbaijan dropped slightly to X tons in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against 2021. In general, exports recorded a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, jam, jelly, puree and paste exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Russia (X tons) was the main destination for jam, jelly, puree and paste exports from Azerbaijan, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, jam, jelly, puree and paste exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Georgia (X tons), sixfold. Iraq (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Russia amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Georgia (X% per year) and Iraq (X% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for jams, jellies, puree and pastes exports from Azerbaijan, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Georgia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia stood at X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Georgia (X% per year) and the United States (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average export price for jams, jellies, puree and pastes amounted to $X per ton, picking up by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Jams, Jellies, Puree and Pastes
Imports into Azerbaijan
In 2022, supplies from abroad of jams, jellies, puree and pastes increased by X% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, jam, jelly, puree and paste imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of jam, jelly, puree and paste to Azerbaijan, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, jam, jelly, puree and paste imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Iran (X tons), threefold. Russia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
