In 2021, supplies from abroad of granules, chippings and powder of marble increased by 43% to X tons, rising for the fourth year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, imports posted a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 195%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, marble granules and powder imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 215% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
