In value terms, concentrated orange juice exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a strong expansion. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for concentrated orange juice exports from Austria, accounting for a 79% share of total exports. Moreover, concentrated orange juice exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovenia (X tons), more than tenfold. Switzerland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 3.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany stood at +22.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovenia (-4.1% per year) and Switzerland (-11.0% per year).

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany totaled +25.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Switzerland (-5.8% per year) and Sweden (+28.2% per year).

The average concentrated orange juice export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2021, after three years of decline, there was growth in overseas purchases of concentrated orange juice, when their volume increased by 1.7% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, concentrated orange juice imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the Netherlands (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of concentrated orange juice to Austria, with a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, concentrated orange juice imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), twofold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from the Netherlands stood at +23.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+11.1% per year) and Germany (-0.4% per year).
