From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Liechtenstein was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Estonia (+39.1% per year) and Germany (+33.7% per year).

In value terms, cadmium imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 4,660%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Switzerland (X kg) constituted the largest supplier of cadmium to Austria, with a 83% share of total imports. Moreover, cadmium imports from Switzerland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X kg), ninefold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Switzerland stood at +65.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+36.5% per year) and Germany (+2.5% per year).
