Exports from Australia

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of lamp holders, plugs and sockets decreased by -18.4% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 61% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, lamp holder exports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

New Zealand (X tons) was the main destination for lamp holder exports from Australia, accounting for a 0.4% share of total exports. Moreover, lamp holder exports to New Zealand exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Chile (X tons), sevenfold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with less than 0.1% share.

In 2022, approx. X tons of lamp holders, plugs and sockets were imported into Australia; with a decrease of -28.8% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 76,658% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
