In 2022, shipments abroad of asparagus was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, asparagus exports fell modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Japan (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) were the main destinations of asparagus exports from Australia, with a combined X% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese), Hong Kong SAR and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
