Refined Lead Exports

Exports in Australia and Oceania

In 2022, approx. X tons of refined lead (unwrought) were exported in Australia and Oceania; picking up by 14% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 17% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, refined lead imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 73%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

New Zealand dominates imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 89% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Fiji (X tons) and Australia (X tons), together constituting an 11% share of total imports.

New Zealand was also the fastest-growing in terms of the refined lead (unwrought) imports, with a CAGR of -4.6% from 2012 to 2022. Fiji (-10.4%) and Australia (-33.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
