Exports in Australia and Oceania

In 2018, the amount of coins exported in Australia and Oceania amounted to X tons, growing by X% against the previous year. Overall, coin exports, however, continue to indicate an abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, coin exports attained their peak figure at X tons in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports failed to regain their momentum.

In value terms, coin exports amounted to $X in 2018. Overall, coin exports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. Australia dominates coin exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2018. It was distantly followed by New Zealand (X tons), committing a X% share of total exports.

Australia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the coins exports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2018. New Zealand (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Australia (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2007-2018, the share of New Zealand (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Australia ($X) remains the largest coin supplier in Australia and Oceania, comprising X% of total coin exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by New Zealand ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

In Australia, coin exports expanded at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2018.

Over the period under review, coin imports reached their maximum at X tons in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

In value terms, coin imports totaled $X in 2018. Over the period under review, coin imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, coin imports reached their peak figure at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

Papua New Guinea (X tons) and Fiji (X tons) prevails in coin imports structure, together achieving X% of total imports. Australia (X kg) held the next position in the ranking, followed by New Zealand (X kg). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports. French Polynesia (X kg) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Papua New Guinea, while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Australia experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to imports, among the main importing countries over the last eleven years, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
