The total import volume increased an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2017; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when it surged by X% year-to-year. The volume of imports peaked in 2017, and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, tomato puree imports amounted to $X in 2017. From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Syrian Arab Republic (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Japan ($X), Iraq ($X) and Saudi Arabia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2017, together accounting for X% of total imports. The United Arab Emirates, South Korea, the Philippines, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Oman, Syrian Arab Republic and Thailand lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Among the main importing countries , Syrian Arab Republic (+X% per year) experienced the highest growth rate of imports, over the last decade, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Tomato Puree Import Prices by Country in Asia

In 2017, the tomato puree import price in Asia amounted to $X per tonne, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when the import prices increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import prices for tomato puree and paste attained its maximum level of $X per tonne in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Average import prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2017, major importing countries recorded the following import prices: in Japan ($X per tonne) and Saudi Arabia ($X per tonne), while Kazakhstan ($X per tonne) and Thailand ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.
