In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest barium or aluminium sulphates supplier in Asia, comprising 73% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with an 8.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a 3.3% share.
In China, barium or aluminium sulphates exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+27.5% per year) and Indonesia (-2.2% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 26% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, India (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons), Japan (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) represented the major importer of sulphates of barium or aluminium in Asia, making up 51% of total import. The Philippines (X tons), Sri Lanka (X tons), China (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Brunei Darussalam (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Singapore ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
