In value terms, silk yarn imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced descent. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Japan (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main importers of silk yarn and yarn spun from silk waste in Asia, together finishing at near X% of total imports. Pakistan (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with an X% share, followed by Nepal (X%).
